Technical specifications
Here you can read more about the technical specifications of the Nxs Internet VMware ESX cluster. The definite structure is the product of months of test procedures and deliberation with the Vmware and Netapp suppliers. We now have created a solid and liable platform which is an fast an affordable alternative for the traditional own servers.
Main points
The main points of the Nxs Internet VMware ESX cluster speak for itself. Here are the advantages:
- Redundant as for storage
- Redundant as for processor capacity and memory
- Redundant as far for network supply
- Redundant as far for power supply
Every environment is:
- Completely separated, as if it were separate machines
- Easily extendable in disk space to the Storage Area Network (SAN)
- Easily extendable in memory 1 GB (max 16 GB)
- Easily extendable in processor capacity per processor (1.2.4)
- Easily extendable in data traffic per 100 GB a month.
Enterprise Storage
The Nxs Internet Vmware ESX cluster consists of a SAN environment based on NetApp FAS3040 hardware and HP network components. This storage environment guarantees a quick and continuous data connection to your virtual server.
Enterprise Servers
The calculation power for your virtual machines is delivered by a number of servers with Dual Quad Core processors and 32 GB of memory. The VMware ESX software is ran on these servers and all virtual machines. The VirtualCenter software of VMware monitors the availability of all physical nodes and divides all virtual machines onto the different physical servers. The software keeps an eye on the load of the physical servers and migrates independent virtual machines to other servers if this will benefit the load division. These automatic migrations are without interruptions or loss of used capacity.
If one of the physical machines fails, the virtual machines affected will be migrated immediately to the other available hardware. As the data is read in the central storage environment, the transfer will be completed within a few minutes. The Enterprise Servers have a min. N+1 configuration which guarantees the capacity if a physical server should fail. This makes it possible to guarantee maintenance without interruptions in the service.
Enterprise Network
Every component of the Nxs Internet ESX cluster is redundant and executed on min. 1Gbit. If the network devices fail, it doesn’t influence the availability of the virtual machines.
