Nxs Internet invests in the new network infrastructure of Juniper
Today Nxs Internet has given the assignment for the delivery of a complete new infrastructure network based on Juniper Networks equipment. With this new structure we launch a scalable and stable platform which shall completely replace the routers and switches. The new elaboration will be put in production in the second quarter of this year.
The investment is the result of an expanded research we did at the end of last year. Based on the inventory of our wishes in the field of speed, reliability and scalable there had been made a list of possibilities.
Finally we have chosen for the Juniper MX 480 routers to be our core routers for Global Switch and Sara. These routers, each of them has been equipped with 10 GB poorten, will provide in the connection from and to the racks which are placed in our own datacenter. The EX4200 routing switches characterizes itself by the Juniper virtual chassis technology with what we can stack 10 physical till one logic router. There will be created an optimal, internal redundancy and scalability by this solution.
The traffic is now delivered via 2 switches (layer 2) and after the adaption every rack will be linked on two redundant routers (layer 3). Fail-over of a connection to the client system will no longer be taken care by the tension tree protocol, but by the VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol). The segmentation on client level means an optimal isolation against possible irregularities within the other parts of the network. The four core routers shall make a connection via OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) with the two border routers.
All the routers are connected via our glass fiber ring. There will also be placed an extra glass fiber connection between both core routers to speed up the traffic. Point to point connections between both locations will be linked via a separated wavelength on the glass fiber ring and due to this it will be separated of the public network. Clients with fail-over or active elaborations between both datacenters will still be able to use their IP-addresses on both locations.
To make the switch to the new platform there will be different tests. After this we shall place the physical connections to the client environment in the nightly maintenance services. This shall be communicated with you.
With this new elaboration we have the possibility to grow with approximately 10 Gbit and there is the possibility to expand further in the future. By choosing for the state of the art solutions of Juniper you will also have a stable and reliable network environment in the future.
