Nxs Internet and AntiQbook
Here we describe the relationship with one of our customers. This time we speak with Piet Wesselman, founder of AntiQbook BV (www.antiqbook.com).

AntiQbook is a small company that offers a database of antique books and dealers of second-hand books. AntiQbook aims at a larger market share, that of the professional dealers. The database was launched in 1997 and has now grown to a database of 4.5 million of books with about 500 customers.

The two AntiQbook founders happen to be antiquarian booksellers themselves, so their IT knowledge demands a lot of technical support. “We couldn’t get that from our former provider so we started looking for a better one in 2001. Positive reviews of Nxs on the Internet lead us to their company. We talked about our desires and needs and that gave us good perspective for the future, as we now experience it.” Says Piet Wesselman. The needs of AntiQbook were mainly about system administration and support in database administration. “Mainly everything dat goes beyond writing HTML and programmes for the maintenance and the use of the database. A good example is the Mysql database. We now work with two servers, the first one replying automatically the data of the ‘master’ server. More then 300.000 searches are entered every day. This asks for special knowledge that we don’t have ourselves.

Piet Wesselman about the experiences of AntiQbook with Nxs Internet: “We started with two servers and customizes maintenance contracts. Those servers have been replaced a few times due to ageing, first by our own servers, but since a few years we have leased a server with Nxs Internet. We are very happy about it. Nxs Internet takes care of the machine, and adapts to the desires of AntiQbook. We therefore have decided to, now that the expansion of our company asks for a new server, use the same construction again. Information and help of Nxs Internet is therefore indispensable, and this statement says it all about our satisfaction on this matter.”
