E-WISE b.v., www.e-wise.nl, was created in 1997 and has specialised in the application of internet technology and the health service. E-WISE is using technology for bringing knowledge to medical professionals.
The organisation of E-WISE consists of an enthusiastic team of ICT-developers and experienced consultants like projects managers who speak the language of the customer in the health service. In that way E-WISE has drawn up a respectable list of customers in the over 5 years of her existence.
E-WISE is working for a large number of health organisations and for many famous pharmaceutical companies.
Nxs Internet and E-WISE
Dirk van der Zee, IT assistant with E-WISE, about the first contact with Nxs Internet:
"In those days we paid our past provider the maximum price to host our servers. We had (and have) the need of using extra servers concerning the expansion of our company. We looked at the price, reliability and flexibility of the providers. Nxs Internet was clearly the best choice."
Experiences of E-WISE
Since april of 2001 E-WISE has been a customer of Nxs Internet. At first the co-location of one computer was implied but little by little E-WISE has transferred every system.
"We now have a rackspace-subscription. The advantage is that we can place extra servers without additional costs. We are very happy about the choice we have made. Few problems with the network, a good and flexible service for a sharp price."
Custom-made
Nxs Internet tries to be more to its customer than just the supplier of bandwidth or co-location space. Our active thinking about the problems of our customers enables us to present custom-made offers. In the case of E-WISE we have drawn up a removal plan of the active services together, Dirk van der Zee says:
"The removal is a good way to demonstrate the flexibility of Nxs Internet. There were two important challenges about the removal. First, we wanted our customers websites to be available. Secondly, all websites needed to have a new IP address because we couldn’t keep our former IP addresses.
I contacted Nxs Internet and set up an appointment to brainstorm together. We then came up with a plan to achieve the goals above.
The plan was this:
- Transfer as many domain names as possible with Nxs Internet for the removal
- Place our new servers with Nxs Internet and configure them.
- After the removal of domain names on a certain date, all variable data was transferred at night from the old servers to the new ones.
- After transferring the data every domain name had his IP address changed. Thanks to a script written by Nxs Internet this could be done in the morning and in a few seconds."
Dirk van der Zee adds:
"Especially the transfer of the domain has taken a lot of time but thanks to the support of Nxs Internet the operation was successful. Without exaggerating we can say about the whole removal project that it was impeccable. Our customers have never noticed anything"
